When troubleshooting things like this, you play divide and conquer. Make a copy of the drawing and erase half the items, then purgeall. Reopen and repeat until the speed gets manageable. It may not, you may end up with a blank drawing that still runs slow.

In that case, wblock all to a new drawing and see if the new one behaves. Between those two games, you can narrow down the bad stuff 99 out of times. You can also watch file sizes to see what is so heavy. My bet here is either on xclipped blocks, or some dynamic block issue.
