Compressed file task ssis

You'd probably be better buying WinZip or equivalent and using their cmd line tool to achieve this. I'd really appretiate it if there is Are you aware of any issues relating to this? That maybe why the msi is failing if that folder doesn't exist - it's been a while since I've looked at this stuff so apologies for my vagueness.

You do have SSIS installed on the server? Posted by twinsen 17 Dec AM awesome, thanks! Posted by Sachin Malik 24 Dec PM I need to comress soem log files once in a week and want to automate this process. Can u suggest me. I have installed this locally just fine.

My problem is the production platform is a server cluster. I have the jobs setup and running under a proxy. Right now I am getting an error stating the task failed to load. Any suggestions? I could compress multiple files using for each loop.

Thanks for the tips provided here. This has been a HUGE help to me. My solution uses an SSIS script task configured to use the package parameters as read-only values, and each of the three variables listed above as read-write values. Within the Main function which is automatically created when the script task is opened , I implement the following nuggets.

In the first snippet below, I do some prep work by assigning SSIS variables to local C variables, and setting up the arguments to pass to the 7Zip executable. Standard output and standard error outputs are written to string values, and the exit code is also captured. Upon success, an entry is made to the SSIS log reporting the information passed to the standard output variable.

If an error occurs, I capture that error message in a string variable. After the above execution attempt, I check for error conditions. If the exit code is anything but zero, or if the exception message or standard error contain a non-blank message, I consider the operation to have been a failure. In such a case, the error message if any is written to the SSIS log and the package fails. Here is a method using VBSCript which can probably be converted to.

Net script or at the very least called on the command line. I can't beleive you're not allowed to download 7ZIP — Nick. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. Sign up using Facebook. Sign up using Email and Password. Post as a guest Name.
