Non-etheral crystal swords with 6 open sockets are the BEST sword for those of you who are item hunters and use the sorceress. There is also a use for the 6 slots. But heres my suggestion for those of you who are player-killers.
Use Rainbow Facet jewels of different death properties. Do not use level up jewels. Believe me when I say this, using the 6 socket crystal sword in a duel can litterally earn you respect Beware that hardcore duels are meant to be with friends only since you risk losing items to the winner. I had not played D2 for many years, and so was really jacked by the way LOD changed the hireling set up. I like playing Single player and discovered something that works VERY well with the archer you can get in the 1st chapter.
My character was a Paladin. At first, I just leveled up normally, killing the little critters and taking few risks. After gaining a few levels, I ended up with some chips and gems, along with a 3 socketed longbow. I put 2 emerald chips and a skull chip into the bow and handed it over to my hireling. When she said "I'll make good use of this", I had no idea!
When I got a new helm or armour, I gave my old ones to her. She ended up like an armoured tank, quickly doubling and tripling her AC as she went up in level.
By doing this, she stayed within one level of my own throughout most of the game. As I reached higher chapters, I found other, better, socketed bows and just changed the grades of the gems, rather than the type.
She already has cold and fire so the double poison of two emeralds made her devastating. The skull allowed her to keep herself healed.
Every hit allowed her a percentage back in life. And Revive resurrect dead monsters which fight for you pays off with high Skeleton Mastery, even if time length of the spell is quite short. And important: get the Bone Shield points, it will help you even in later levels. The Necromancer does not have the Warmth ability like the Sorceress, his mana regenerating ability goes directly with the maximum amount of mana. I can agree it is not easy.
But with good skill planning and some strategies you can develop a powerful character. And skill planning is important. Very true! Put lots of points into these. Shiver Armor gives you a bonus to armor. Beldandy, my level 60 sorceress, has over armor with that spell enhancing her armor.
Glacier Spike freezes the enemies for a short time and damages them not only the one you hit, but also the ones standing next to them. Blizzard reminds me of the Warcraft II spell of the same name: an ice rain goes down damaging all enemies within that area. Frozen Orb is a great attack spell in higher levels and for player duels. So put at least skillpoints into cold mastery to reduce their restistance to your Ice spells. Tough enemies you can kill with Glacier Spike freezes them , some Blizzards more Blizzards at the same place: damage will be added!
So weaken the boss with four Static Fields and then give it some Glacier Spikes. More skillpoints in Static Field will only make the range better, not the percentage, about skillpoints in Static Field is enough. My tip is get a wand with Teleportation and test it if you like it before wasting skillpoints on it.
Place the Wert's leg and a Tome of Town Portal in the Horadaric Cube, and it will open a portal to the hidden cow level filled with axe carrying cows. If you die and can't get back to your body, simply save and exit the game, then load your game and your body should be in the town.
All your gold may not appear this obviously depends on whether you were carrying any , it may still be lying near where you died. This code only works if your a Sorceress.
Before you open the doors to Andariel's big throne room, open a Scroll of Town Portal in a corner, Next you make sure you have a lot of health potions in your belt I recommend putting scrolls of town portal in the 4th one. Make sure you have blaze selected as your skill and open the door. Then you just walk around the pool of blood and make sure she's following you and pretty soon the flames will kill her. To get an extra "Mephisto's soulstone" do the following: 1. Kill Mephisto in act 3. Pick up his soulstone.
Go to the river of flame in act 4. Kill "Hephasto the armorer". Pick up the hellforge hammer. Make a town portal. Have Cain to identify the hellforge hammer. You will now have an extra "Mephisto's soulstone" in your inventory though the original one will still be on the hellforge.
This doesn't work for any class except the Barbarian. It definitely takes patience. OK, first learn the find potion skill. If u want to, after go to the skills shrine, then go around and kill everything, in between use the find potion skill and with the shrine enhancement u should be able to get light health and mana, and maybe even a rejuvenation. Presto, Mo money! First you must have a good weapon. Go across the bridge then go to the middle so the other guys can't get you then summon a blood golem at least level 4 make mephisto chase you then let him start attacking and then when mephisto turns and attacks quickly go and attack mephisto if he hits you don't run since he has such high health when your blood golem hits him both of you gain all of your health back.
Unlike in Diablo I, you cannot save the game in the middle of a dungeon, and re-load the game back to that point. That is, if you pick up an unidentified magic item and want to save the game before you identify it, so that you can reload the game and dump the item if its actually cursed or useless, you cannot do it directly through the main game menu like you could in Diablo I.
This is because your in-game menu options are various game setting 'Options', 'Save and Quit', and 'Return to Game'. To do this in Diablo I you would just: save, identify item, load game, and then dump the item if you wanted. To do this in Diablo II, you need to: save and quit, load game, identify item, Alt-Tab to bring up your Windows desktop , end task Diablo II ctrl-alt-del, select Diablo II, click on 'end task' , then relaunch the game, and reload the game.
Your item now returns to an unidentified state, and you can unload sell, drop it if you want. Ok, you know how your this little weakling and you can't hurt a fly? I'm actually a newb but after i got as many emeralds in that sword as i could get, I had level 46 or so people begging me for that sword. Note: you can type in all of these codes again after they are in effect to turn them off.
Right click on your Diablo II desktop icon. Left click on the shortcut tab. Enter the code in the target line after the quotes.
With the D2X disk in you computer click on the "My computer" icon. From there you should see the D2X shortcut picture. Right-click on it and select Open. Double click it to watch the semi-funny 30 second D2 commercial. To hear every sound recorded for Diablo 2 press ''enter'' in a game to open the chat box and type in ''soundchaosdebug''. You must have beaten Baal on the difficulty you want to make the portal for though.
Go to Rogue Encampment 2. Enter Portal.
